FAQ

I'm not flexible at all. Is yoga 'good' for me?

Yes! Yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, condition, flexibility etc. Building flexibility can be a reason to start yoga. If you do nothing about it, nothing will change.

How often should I do yoga to notice the benefits?

Anything is better than no yoga at all. To notice the real benefits and a clear difference /to make progress, we recommend taking 2 to 3 lessons per week.

What should I wear and what do I need?

Wear comfortable activewear/clothing. You will practice yoga barefoot. Jewelry that can get in the way is removed/ left at home (your watch too! Let go of time.)

You need a yoga mat. There are mats in the studio that you can use for the regular classes only (for HOT classes you need to bring your own mat/ buy at mat at the studio €30/ rent a mat €1). After each lesson, these should be cleaned with the appropriate cloths. From a hygienic point of view, it is better for you and others to purchase your own mat in the long run. We can also order a mat for you. A towel is nice if you sweat a lot. We recommend that drink before and after class, so preferably not during.

Is there a dressing room / shower available?

There is a small changing room. We don't have a shower.

Which yoga lessons are suitable for beginners?

ALL of our yoga classes are suitable for YOU,... However as a beginner you might not yet be comfortable with Vinyasa II. You can read more about the different classes/styles on our website.

What can I expect from a lesson?

Every lesson is different, and every teacher has his or her own teaching style. A fixed fact is that the lesson starts with a moment of silence / meditation. Varying per lesson, you will move through the postures (asanas) in a dynamic or more static way. Your breath is often leading the movement. The class always ends with a final relaxation or meditation.

Which lessons are dynamic?

You can read the content of the lesson in the lesson descriptions. This way you can see which lesson suits you best.

I don't understand some Asanas/postures/adjustments?

You can always go to the teacher before or after class and discuss what you find difficult or what you want to know. There is an adjustment for every position, so that everyone can participate at his / her own level.

What about the breath?

During the practice you breathe in and out through your nose, not through your mouth, unless stated otherwise. An old saying in yoga is: "you breathe with your nose, you eat with your mouth." If you improve your practice, you will notice that you learn to breathe longer and deeper, therefore you will experience the deeper effects.

I am pregnant, which class is right for me?

It is advisable, especially in the 1st trimester of your pregnancy, to take it easy. Always inform the teacher, because there are a number of postures that you should not do.

We also offer pregnancy specific yoga lessons. You do not need any experience for this. However, first consult with your obstetrician or doctor about whether you can start with yoga.

I have an injury, can I just participate?

That depends on the injury. Do you want to keep it personal? Then contact the teacher to discuss your injuries, illness and / or limitations. The teacher will keep an eye on you during the lesson, but we are not doctors nor responsible for your care.

Do I have to sign up for a lesson?

As we continue to grow, it is advisable that you sign-up/Register on-line before joining a Class and/or Workshop. Sometimes, the classes/Workshops are FULL. Oh course, more than welcome to join anytime even without pre-registering for class. Drop-in's are always welcome.
